There have been other near-fatal maritime situations (see article), and 2 deaths in their hotel chains (see article). They will not change unless we publicize the problem, which we intend to do. | Hitting the rock: how can you hit a rock that has been on the charts for over 5,000 years?
The evacuation: why weren't there enough lifeboats, and why didn't the crew know how to operate them? What would have happened if we had been 50 miles from land? Ashore: why were no senior officers present? Why was no complete headcount conducted until 3 am? Why was there no organization of passengers for the Aegean 2 vs the Perla? And why, while all this was happening, was the crew allowed to drink wine in the taverns while passengers had to stand around in the quay? The sinking: it was announced that the watertight doors were closed and the situation was stable. So why did the ship sink? Casualties: it is a virtual certainty that 2 Sea Diamond passengers died when their second-deck cabin flooded. A Louis crewman died 14 May after a mooring line snapped while docking at Mykonos. In all 5 people have died in Louis facilities in 8 months. |

| Adequate compensation for all: Louis Hellenic has offered 1,400 Euros and a free cruise. But most people lost far more than that, and some do not have secondary insurance. Now some people have been offered another 1,000 Euros in exchange for quitting all further claims. We think it is important for EVERYONE to know what offers are being made.
